GWA Wingfoil World Cup Gran Canaria 2026 - Day 1

Registration day

Today marked the start of the first Canary Islands event on the 2026 GWA Wingfoil World Cup tour. El Burrero on the east coast of Gran Canaria is the venue, where FreeFly-Slalom is on the schedule from July 20 to 22, followed by Surf-Freestyle from July 23 to 25.

This will be followed by the World Cup in Fuerteventura, where both disciplines will also be contested and the world championship titles will be awarded.

There is 20,000 euros in prize money up for grabs, and even the best racers will get their share. Today was registration day; 16 men and 13 women will compete in the FreeFly-Slalom.

The trade winds were blowing just as strongly as they had on previous days; the races will take place starting tomorrow.
