Duck Jibe

The advanced duck jibe in wing foiling

In this variation of the duck jibe, the front hand reaches back; the wing, held with one hand, flies downwind and simultaneously swings into the new direction of travel. The other hand grabs the front of the boom, stopping the rotation and lifting the wing so that it’s perfectly aligned for continuing the ride. Finish the jibe while foiling — done.

Tip: Try this trick in lighter winds and reduce the power in the wing by riding downwind. With less wind force in the wing, you can execute the duck jibe with greater control.
