Parawing - Take-off

This is how you start foiling with a parawing

The take-off with a parawing is similar to a take-off with a wing, except that a parawing cannot be pumped as effectively. In lighter winds, more legwork is therefore required, as pumping is done with the board (or foil).

How take-off works
If there isn't enough wind: wait for a gust. Align the board on a downwind course, wait for a favorable moment in the wave pattern (start with a wave), and then pump lightly with the parawing and intensively with your legs.

Tip: Practice launching in stronger winds on flat water, then the power of the parawing will be sufficient to master the take-off.
