Slim Chance

Front flip with handlepass

Wilhelm Christahl demonstrates the Slim Chance. This trick is usually performed while kitesurfing or wakeboarding, and in this photo series, it’s shown in its wing foil variation. The name says it all: Slim Chance = a low probability of pulling it off.

During the Slim Chance, Wilhelm initiates a fontflip. As he takes off, he lets go of the front handle (the back hand grabs the front of the boom), performs the handle pass behind his back during the forward rotation, and then takes over again with his front hand.

This trick is quite technically challenging, as it requires coordinating a frontflip with a body rotation over the wing. Wilhelm Christahl has already landed this trick. Here’s a series of photos of the Slim Chance that have been animated into a video.
