Duotone Skybrid D/LAB 2027
Five foilboards with a hollow construction
Hollow, lightweight, and stiff - Duotone is launching the 2027 model of the Skybrid, featuring D/LAB construction. The mid-length board comes in a new shape and is available in five sizes (60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 liters) and is constructed using Hollow Shell Composite technology.
This hollow construction eliminates the need for a foam core; as the name suggests, the board is hollow on the inside. The outer shell is thicker, and in combination with internal stringers, this creates an ultra-stiff and very lightweight board with low moment of inertia. Not designed for jumping, but for maximum performance in freeriding and paragliding. All five sizes (5'5“, 5'7”, 5'9“, 5'11”, and 6'1") are priced at 2,999 euros.
For this price, the weight is surprisingly low: the 60-liter board weighs just 3.38 kg, while the 100-liter model weighs 4.08 kg. The most significant changes to the shape: The edges of the hull have been moved further inward to narrow the planing surface.
This should allow the board to launch faster, slow down less during touchdowns, and release more quickly. Thanks to a modified edge shape on the deck, the standing area is wider, allowing for more lateral pressure to be applied to the foil when foiling without footstraps.
Below, we’ve included two videos that provide a detailed look at the 2027 model of the Skybrid D/LAB. For more information about the boards and their hollow construction, check out these two links:
