Starboard Reactor Wing
Freestyle and surf wing with a shorter wingspan
Following the VIVA allround wing, Starboard is now introducing the REACTOR wing, which is designed for high-performance freestyle and surf use.
The shorter wingspan, the profile design, and the combination of three different materials - H2, HTD160, and ULTRA-X for the tubes, and AEROFLEX 55, CODE-TEC 85, and ULTRA-X for the wing surface - are designed to deliver maximum performance for the intended application.
Four windows provide a clear view in all situations. The range includes six sizes (2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 square meters), available in the Burgundy color combination (burgundy/white) and including a hip leash; the pistol grip boom is sold separately (available in prepreg UD carbon or aluminum versions).
The two large wings are equipped with a 109-cm boom and feature a very compact aspect ratio (5.0 and 4.5, each with a wingspan of approximately 292 cm). The four sizes 4.0 and smaller come with the shorter 91-cm boom, and their aspect ratio (wingspan to strut length) is slightly more elongated.
With these different aspect ratios, Starboard aims to optimize the performance of each size: larger wings become more compact to handle, while the smaller sizes - which already have a short wingspan - are designed to deliver more speed and control.
