First-ever Downwind Parawing World Cup

From April 22–26, 2026, the first-ever Downwind Parawing World Cup took place in Leucate, France, as part of the iconic Mondial du Vent.

Riders from around the world came together to compete in a completely new discipline – combining downwind riding, wind power, and foil technology.

With changing conditions and no fixed format, the event evolved in real time. From open-water racing to high-speed beach finishes, athletes adapted, formats shifted, and a new sport began to take shape.

30 men and 9 women lined up for this first chapter — a clear signal that parawing is here, and it’s growing fast.
