A jibe is a change of the riding direction that is performed as a 180-degree turn to leeward (away from the wind).
Before jibing, your are standing in the normal position on the board (heels pointing windward, toes leeward) – there are other ways to do it, of course, but then the jibe is called a switch stance jibe or toe to heel jibe because of the different foot position.
It is important to foil consistently throughout the entire jibe. You should try to keep the radius as even as possible and also maintain a constant flying height on the foil.
Riding away from the wind reduces the power in the parawing. This is beneficial because during the jibe, the bar is turned upward and then, when exiting the turn, further in the new direction of travel. This allows the parawing to change its flight direction to match the direction of travel of the board.
