A tack is a change of direction that is performed as a 180-degree turn to windward.
Before the turn, you stand in the normal position on the board (heels pointing windward, toes leeward) – there are other ways of doing it, of course, but then the tack is called a switch stance tack or toe to heel tack because of the different foot position.
It is important to foil consistently throughout the entire turn. You should try to keep the radius as even as possible and also maintain a constant altitude on the foil.
When the board is pointing straight into the wind, the parawing is flown from the outside to the inside, lifting the bar above the head. This movement is performed by the front arm, while the rear hand changes the grip position on the bar.
