Hüde, April 25, 2026 – Last weekend, the first "One Hour Edition" of the Winger of the Sea regatta series (WOTS) took place on Lake Dümmer in the Diepholz district of Lower Saxony, Germany.

Together with the windsurfing races held at the same time, 35 water sports athletes participated on Saturday, including 13 teenagers and 7 women.

The wing foil starting field consisted of 9 competitors. All classes started together and engaged in a spirited competition on the slalom buoy course.

With sunny skies and winds of 8–15 knots in the morning, which picked up to 12–18 knots as the day progressed, three race rounds were held.

Felix Neuling won the wing foil competition ahead of 12-year-old Samu Klimt. Marleen Fritz, the only woman in the wing foil field, finished third.

Felix Neuling also secured first place in the overall standings for all foilers (windsurf foilers and wing foilers, with a total of 15 competitors). Second place went to windsurf foiler Til Klöpping, followed once again by Samu Klimt and Marleen Fritz.

The day of sporting success at this fun regatta came to a close in the evening with a group barbecue by the lake. The next edition of the WOTS One Hour Format will take place on the first weekend of May as part of the Strander Surf Cup on the Kiel Fjord (May 2–3 – Info and registration).
