Backwind Jibe

Quick version without extended backwind ride

Lift the wing in windward position in front of your body and let it push you around the turn. You can combine this with a longer backwind ride, or keep it short and sweet, as Henning Nockel demonstrates here.

If you already initiate the jibe and then lift the wing in front of your body, the wind pressure in the wing is reduced because you are moving with the wind. This makes the move easier, as otherwise you would have to use your body weight to push against the windward wing on a crosswind course.
