Wing Foiling in Hanstholm - Fish Factory Session

Wing Foiling in Hanstholm

Fish Factory Session

Hanstholm, Denmark, July 5 2026 — At this Sunday, the wind was blowing much stronger than forecast. As if the 7–8 Beaufort winds weren’t challenging enough on their own, even just behind the long pier near the former fishmeal factory, massive waves of white water were crashing onto the rocky beach.

Under these conditions, you usually don’t see any wing foilers at this spot, but on the first weekend of the vacation, there were a handful of riders out with their wings — understandably, using the small gear they had stashed in their trunks.

Mads Michel was using a 2.0 Vayu Aura, while Lönne Jensen opted for a 3.0 KT Astro.

And then they ripped it up, as if the wind were blowing at only 4–5 Beaufort. As a goofy-footer, you can slice through the waves perfectly when the wind is coming from the left; Mads showed off a few good down-the-line rides — with and without a flagged wing. Lönne rides regular, which is perfect for jumps on the way out.

Here’s a short clip of the two youngsters from that windy day:
