Flag Jibe - switch stance
Let the wing drift and initiate the jibe
Performing a jibe with the wing flagged on flat water is good practice for winging in the waves. That’s how you ride a turn on the wave face.
When riding in switch stance, the rear hand grips the leading edge handle and flags the wing.
To prevent the wing from dropping downward when turning away from the wind, you need to maintain the airflow. To do this, rotate the leading edge in the direction of travel; the wind will keep the wing flying.
Halfway through the turn, raise the wing to head height and pull the handle in the new direction of travel so that your other hand can grab it. The wing is once again in the normal airflow, and the ride continues.
