Surfinlock - anti-theft device for boards and foils

Surfinlock

Surfboard anti-theft device – now available for foils too

Surfinlocks work just like a bike lock, but for your boards. They are secured using a metal insert that is anchored in the fin box. Originally developed for surfboards (US Box, FCS, Futures), they were later expanded to include SUP Slide-In systems, and are now – brand new – also available for foil tracks.

The genius of this design is that it secures the foilboards and the foils mounted on them. A metal plate covers the foil’s screw connection, preventing it from being removed. The board and foil can then be secured with a looplock cable (e.g., by attaching them to trees, benches, railings, or tow hooks).

Surfinlock for foilboards and foils

The system was developed by Florian Lohmann: "I founded a startup that makes board security systems (Surfinlock). I originally developed the first locks for my surfboards, and now I’m expanding the product line: as of today, the new foil lock is officially available in my online store. It’s the first system that lets you lock your board and foil together, which is extremely handy, especially when traveling in a van or camping."

On his website, Florian offers the Surfinlocks as a kit for surfboards, foil boards, and SUP boards (€39.90 - €59.90), but cable locks and fin box inserts are also available separately (€19.90 - €39.90).

The Surfinlock website provides detailed descriptions of how each system works. You’ll also find the online store there:
