Foil-Festival Fehmarn 2026 - Test Event
Test event for wingfoilers, parawingers, pump foilers, and e-foilers
The Foil-Festival on Fehmarn kicked off this year with only light winds on the first day. Wing foiling was possible on Friday morning, after which pump foiling and e-foiling became the most popular activities. Duotone has a whole fleet of Foil Cruise and Foil Assist boards on hand, and manufacturers PWA-Foil, TakeOff, and Foildrive also offer electric-powered foiling.
The list of brands in attendance is long; many of them also brought their latest products for people to try out, and there were some interesting new developments to discover.
Slingshot introduces the Project Drag downwind boards, which are also available with an adjustable deep Tuttle box. Using adapters, the mast – which is firmly anchored to the board – can be mounted in various positions. From a hydrodynamic standpoint, this Tuttle box system is superior to the surface-mounted plate of the double US box, at least if you want to get the most out of the board’s performance while foiling.
At the same location, Ride Engine offers a retractable leash that is significantly smaller and lighter than the two products we tested most recently.
Many manufacturers are introducing new foils, such as the Dolphin from Indiana, the Halo from KT, and Starboard’s front wings, which have been optimized through 7,000 simulations. This spring, F-One updated its entire foil lineup to feature a new mast-to-fuselage connection.
AFS is introducing the Stream Wing, Starboard the Viva and the Source, Duotone is showcasing its new Floats, Naish the Neutron, Vayu the EOS V3, and F-One has brought its entire new lineup – and the other brands are doing much the same.
The following exhibitors are on site (A–Z): : AFS, AK, APPLETREE, ARMSTRONG, AXIS, CABRINHA, CODE, CORE, DUOTONE, ELEVEIGHT, FLYSURFER, FOILDRIVE, F-ONE, GA/GAASTRA, INDIANA, ION, JP-AUSTRALIA, KT, LEVITAS, MANERA, NAISH, NEIL PRYDE, NORTH, PWA-FOIL, RIDE ENGINE, SLINGSHOT, STARBOARD, TABOU, TAKEOFF and VAYU.
Testing is expected to resume on Sunday and Whit Monday; a northwesterly wind is moving toward the island and will hopefully allow the Freestyle German Championships and the One-Hour Race to take place.
