New wings at GUNSAILS
HY-Wing series with three 2027 models
GUNSAILS is offering three new wings in its 2027 HY-Wing line: the easy-to-fly Fluo (Easy All-Round), the Omega (All-Round), and the Omega Pro (Performance).
In the latter model, a large U-PE Black Technora section on the leading edge stiffens the airframe, and - together with the foil material on the trailing edge - reduces the weight compared to the standard Omega (saving 15 g on the 5.0 model).
For the Omegas, the geometry in every size as well as the design details have been redesigned. The O-Frame strut is thinner, reinforced with unidirectional fibers to resist twisting and concavely shaped at the boom for greater freedom of movement.
The attachment of the boom and handles is perfectly designed. Before inflating, they are each hooked into four metal brackets and secured to the strut by air pressure. They can be easily removed for transport or to switch between the boom and handles without tools.
All wings are equipped with two separate air chambers (SUP valves) and windows (PVC on the Fluo, X-Ply on both Omegas). Mini-battens stiffen the trailing edge.
The HY-Wing Omega Pro 2027 is available in seven sizes (from 3.5 to 6.5 m2 in 0.5 increments); the standard version is also available in three additional sizes: 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 m2.
The HY-Wing Fluo 2027 is available in five sizes: 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 m2.
The prices are the opposite of “HY”: the Fluo ranges from 499 to 579 euros, the Omega from 599 to 719 euros and the Omega Pro from 699 to 849 euros. If you sign up for the newsletter in advance, you can save an additional 10 euros.
The Fluo comes with both handles included; for the Omega Wings, you’ll need to purchase the carbon boom (89 euros) or the aluminum handles (39 euros each) in the appropriate size separately. For the front handle, you can choose between a pistol grip (Front Handle) or a straight design (Universal Handle).
