Naish Chimera 2027
New shape with many design changes
With the Chimera, Naish offers a board that can be used in all foil disciplines. The concept: travel light with less gear and have just one board in your quiver that lets you do it all when foiling - wing, surf and downwind foiling.
The 2027 version hit the market today. Across the eight-size range (from 4'8" with 40 liters to 6'8" with 130 liters of volume), the new shape has essentially changed three key features. The goals were to optimize pumping and takeoff efficiency, improve maneuverability on the foil, and increase volume while keeping the board length shorter.
To bring this concept to life in a single board, a mid-length shape was chosen, which supports early takeoff at slow speeds.
The 2027 model is more compact than its predecessor; the volume from the now-shorter length has been redistributed to the tail. This is also intended to aid in takeoffs. The overall more even distribution of volume across the board’s length also reduces the swing weight during direction changes.
The rocker line has also been optimized, and the nose and tail have been made thinner in the side profile to reduce the wind-exposed surface area. On the deck, the concavity of the standing area has been reduced for a more comfortable stance.
The new Chimeras are available in stores at an MSRP ranging from 1,349 to 1,859 euros, depending on length. Learn more about the new shape in the video below and on the Naish website at:
